How To Organize Essential Oils!

essential oil organization

Hello Loves! Today I decided to share how I organize my essential oils for my working desk!

I have a fairly large collection of oils and not alot of space to store them.

So here is what I came up with!

essential oil organization, essential oil collection

I store all of my essential oils on my working desk in these wooden Ikea drawers that came in a small storage dresser.

I find its easier to just leave the drawers themselves on my desk so I can grab what I need easily.

Now onto how I manage to find the oil I need without having to pick each one up and hope that I grab the essential oil I was looking for.

essential organization, essential oil collectionessential oil index

As You an see when looking at my oils from above they are all numbered. What I have done instead of writing all the names of the oils on top is I have created an essential oil index in my creation binder.

Each oil has a number and it can be easily searched for in the index and located in the box. All  of the oils in the box are organised by number in order.

Why I like my index so much better than writing down the names on all of the labels is it firstly can be difficult to fit the names of the essential oils on the labels. But most importantly I also like the Idea Of having my essential oils filed and written out on paper that way I can easily assess which oils I have and which I need or desire.

Here is how the index works!

essential oil collection, essential oil index, essential oil organization

Essential oils fall into different categories in nature. There are Flowers, Trees, Woods,Roots, and Grasses.

So my index contains all of my essential oils organized by category. I have all the flowers on one page and the trees on another.

This process is so easy it takes literally two seconds to open my binder and find the number of the essential oil I wish to use.

Here is a video demonstration and a walk through of my organization in further detail!

Hope you all really enjoyed this post and found it helpful 🙂

Wishing you all beauty and bliss!

The Truth On Mascara

Did you know that most of the mascaras on the market contain ingredients that can actually do harm to your lashes?

After a while you may start to notice your lashes become brittle and dry and before you know it….they fall out! This is a good way for manufactures to get consumers to come back for more of their magic eyelash goop!

I will teach your how to get real results with YOUR lashes without having to pay for false promises that come in a plastic tube of black goop!

First And Foremost you need to have a healthy diet!

Key Nutrients For Healthier & Longer Lashes!

VITAMIN H: Vitamin H is actually a B vitamin and B vitamins are known for having good effects on the hair and lashes. B vitamins help the body metabolize fats and proteins and in result you get faster hair growth! You can buy Supplements at health food stores. Some ways to get this nutrient through your food is by eating things like eggs, beans, and nuts and seeds!

Antioxidants: Antioxidant rich foods like blueberries and believe it or not chocolate are fantastic at protecting your lashes and keeping them strong so eat foods rich in color!

Omega 3 Fatty acids: I cant stress how important it is to have healthy fats in your diet! Healthy fats come from things like fish, avocados, nuts and seeds. These fats are good to maintain your vibrant beauty and overall general health. Omega 3’s help your body absorb nutrients and vitamins to your blood stream.

Only when you are truly healthy from the inside it will exude on the outside.

How To Condition Your Lashes As Part Of Your Daily Beauty Regime

condition eye lashes with olive oil, thicker and longer eyelashes naturally, natural eye lash treatment, eyelash conditioner, olive oil for eyelashes, healthy diet and eyelashes, B vitamins for hair and eyelashes, antioxidants, organic, daniellebeautybliss, beauty guru, organic beauty guru,

Olive oil is my favorite natural treatment for lashes. Apply a drop to your finger and apply the oil to your lashes every night before bed.

~Another great oil is vitamin E oil

~A clever choice is Pomegranate oil as it is rich in antioxidants which will stimulate growth

Mascara Your Friend Or Your Enemy?

As I said at the start of this post most mascaras are causing harm to your lashes due to harmful preservatives and chemicals. Why would you want to settle for only temporary results anyways?

I highly suggest reducing the amount of mascara you apply and also reduce how often you apply it. Give your lashes a chance to recover once in a while at the very least.

The Bright Side

There are healthy alternatives to mascaras one of my favorites is by 100% pure and I have the color blackberry. I have a full review on this mascara on my blog as well. Be sure to check that out!

Mascaras rich in plant extracts, natural pigments, and  un-harmful  preservatives are a wiser choice. Natural Mascaras are often equally effective as the generic ones though they are harder to find.

I hope you found these tips helpful!

Much Love

The Natural Products I Use To Get Fresh & Ready For The Day!

Lets Start With Tooth Care

Step 1: I like to brush my teeth using an electric tooth brush by Oral B. I used To be one of those people who mock electric tooth brush users. I must admit now.. my teeth have never been easy to clean due to my tight spaces and overlaps so I feel electric really gives them a nice polish and they never feel like there was any spots missed since using the electric.

My tooth paste is SELF MADE. might sound weird and scary but why should a tooth paste made in a factory be safer than one you make from home? Plus I love having total control over whats in it. you ever wonder why your tooth paste bottle says “maybe harmful if swallowed?” WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH THEN?? Most toothpastes are loaded with harmful synthetic ineffective ingredients that belong in a chemical lab not in your mouth! My tooth paste is made out of baking soda, coconut oil, pure essential oils of peppermint and cinnamon. super safe and EFFECTIVE ingredients. For my exact tooth paste recipe let me know if you would like a video or post about it .:)

Step 2: EXTRA CLEAN. Since my teeth are so crooked I have to take a little bit of extra time to clean a few with a special tool.

I also love scraping my tung, it keeps your breath fresh as most of the bacteria in your mouth sit on your tung.

Step 3: FLOSS & Rinse!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr Tungs Smart Floss! Its an all natural floss with a natural wax coating. its amazing it takes out so much plaque.  Its also very flexible so its easy to use. I floss twice a day, I feel this is the most important step of all! Along with flossing I like To massage my gums with Healthy Gum Drops by living libations. the blend is a collaboration of essential oils that help heal and repair your gum tissue!

Now for extra minty freshness I like to add a few drops of peppermint essential oil to some water and the swish it in my mouth for 30 seconds. 🙂

Now For Me I like To Refresh Before My Workout as well, especially if I am going Outside. Here is How I do it!

Step 1: Deo! super important! my favorite all natural variety is Primavera’s Ginger lime roll on alcohol based one!

Step 2: I love my energizing salbei body splash by weeleda but for even more ZING I added Lemongrass oil to it!

Step 3: Who doesn’t love a fresh face? Just a spritz of rose water will cleanse and tone your skin in 2 seconds! I am currently using the one by Safeas which I am LOVING

SHOWER TIME!!!

Step 1: Shampoo & Condition. I generally use Lavera’s basis sensitive shampoo because its a good price, has a decent ingredients list, and its got a good lather.

For Conditioning I am currently using a Sante coconuty one. I mix up my shampoo and conditioning regime OFTEN! I also shampoo and condition EVERY OTHER DAY.

For pits and privates I like Weeleda’s pomegranate body wash. its very gentle and soft on the skin!

step 2. I like to cleanse my face while in the shower. I am oddly using a hair care product by Intelligent Nutrients, it is the leave in hair conditioner to be exact and it works like a dream on the skin. its like a gel and I have been using it for a month on my face. :p

AFTER SHOWER

Step 1: STRETCH MARK PREVENTION: I am preggo so I have been trying to prevent stretch marks. I really like weeleda’s sebuckthorn lotion for the day. I prefer a light protection for the day and deeper at night.

step 2: Nothing better than spritzing on your own self made perfume that smells like springy magnolia blossoms!

Why Is It A Good Idea To Make Your own Natural Perfume?

Synthetic and Organic Fragrances can both be harmful in their own way. While organic derived plant oils usually only cause mild allergic reactions such as skin irritation, sneezing, and possibly a rash. The synthetic perfume industry uses chemicals extremely harmful rather it is a long or short term effect on the human body.

Benzene, aldehydes, phenols, phthalates, and so many more of these toxic fragrant additives are capable of causing Cancer, birth defects, and central nervous system disorders. This can occur by just smelling these ingredients, applying them to your skin is an even bigger issue!

So ask yourself. Would I rather risk a natural plant oil make me sneeze or increase the odds of developing cancer in my future?

Id rather sneeze thanks! 😉

Another great reason to make your own perfumes is because it is just so much fun!  I feel the perfume market is so boring, they only sell what people want to buy and I feel all the perfumes lack so much character. When you make your own perfume your true creativity and personality can be represented through your scent. You are unique, complex, and beautiful and NOT just another generic “techno living being” who smells like head ache inducing sugar and fruit!

My favorite thing about using plants and flowers for perfume is the health benefits. Essential oils are so beneficial, and not only for your emotional and mental health but your physical health as well. Nature is the expert when it comes to the power and beauty of scent. As human beings we are much better suited for natural fragrance because we are apart of nature after all! (I will talk more on the health benefits of essential oils in further posts and videos.)

Now lets get started!

What are you going to need to make your own perfume?

The main things you will need are:

~Some of your favorite essential oils

~Pretty bottles to store your fragrance in

~ A base oil or alcohol

Some bonus materials are:

~small vials

~droppers

~labels

~Recipe Book

Your perfume is entirely your creation and you can do what ever your heart desires. However Some things that are helpful to know when it comes to experimenting with plant essences is.

~Some oils are better suited for each other and blend better together.

~Essential oils are categorized into 3 different “notes” A top note, a middle note, and a base note. It can be helpful to have a variety of notes to add depth to your perfume.

Top Notes are the aromas that catch your attention first! They are the first thing you smell but evaporate the fastest. here is a list of essential oils that are top notes:

Middle notes are what I like to call the heart of the perfume as they add alot of character and depth

Now The base notes are the heavier and long lasting oils. They are the grand finale of your scent!

Now lets discuss what the best ratio of alcohol/oil to fragrance is:
15% essential oil to alcohol/ oil is a light body spray type of concentration
20%-25 percent is a good perfume ratio
30% is EXTREMELY concentrated.

The last thing you need to know to make a good perfume is that good things take time!
Let your creation develop. Place your creation in a cool dark place for about a month to let the different oils truly blend and become one with each other.

So that is pretty much all there is to it!  Get creative and have fun!

I hope you all enjoy the benefits I have experienced through making my own perfumes and if you have any questions at all dont hesitate to ask.
I will leave you now with one of my favorite quotes on fragrance:
“A thousand kinds of flowers, yellow jasmine, wild iris… I am composed of this beauty, the attar of pressed plants, rose oil, resinous balsam: live essence, I am the intelligent juice of flowers.” ~ Bahauddin, Rumi’s father

Whats In My All Natural Travel Beauty bag?

Hello Natural Beauties!

so I am headed on a weekend trip with my husbands family to Lepizig Germany. YAY

Here is a List Of things I typically bring with me for a small trip like this. Everything From skin care to hair care to makeup all fits in my favorite rosy print cosmetic bag!

 Hair Care Goodies:

For hair care I tend to bring quite a bit. since this is only a short trip I decided to bring a small container of shampoo and conditioner. My Natural Shampoo and conditioner of choice right now are by the affordable line Lavera.

~Lavera Basis Sensitive Shampoo

~Lavera Mango Hair Milk Conditioner

Now For styling I have really been enjoying and indulging in the not so cheap Intelligent Nutrients range. The products that I have are actually the trial sizes so PERFECT for travel. I also like to bring Raw Coconut oil as a highly effective de-frizzer

~Intelligent Nutrients Spray On Detangler

~Intelligent Nutrients Volumizing spray

~1 teaspoon coconut oil in a small travel container

Skin Care For The Body:

Being 23 weeks Pregnant I need to continue my stretch mark prevention routine while away.  I will be using Everybody Loves The Sunshine From Living Libations as a body oil and for fun in the sun!  One of my charms while away on holiday is the burts bees hand salve. I like to use this for rashes from walking and sweating long periods of time.

~Everybody loves the sunshine by living libations

~ Burts bees hand salve

~ Lotion for dry hands

Now For My Travel Skin Care Routine!

I believe less is more when it comes to beautiful skin. No need to pack a 6 step cleansing method while you are traveling. how unpractical and annoying is that?

How about a simple 2 step? or make it one step if you like!

Step.1

I am Bringing My Soft Bristle Face Cleaning Brush. All I do is rub this on my DRY face in Circular motions. This Exfoliates and removes all that dead skin and dirt and brings blood circulation to the face. It will leave your skin feeling silky soft.

Step 2.

I am a HUGE fan of Rose Water. It is commonly used as just a toner but it is a wonderfully versatile gift from nature. The one I am using is by a line called Safeas and it has a fantastic sprayer that feels like mist to the face! Rose water not only tones but it cleanses and  moisturizes all at the same time which makes it perfect for travel because of its all in one abilities!

Hope you enjoyed my natural beauty travel tips. See you all when I return on Tuesday!

Beauty tip of the week: Juicing is a great way to make sure you are getting enough nutrients in your diet. I decided to invest in a juicer about 6 months ago!

Below is a video of me sharing my experience with juicing from my natural beauty channel on Youtube.

 My Favorite Green Juice Recipe

4 Local Organic Apples

2 Bright and sunny Oranges

1 Carrot

1 Medium/Large Head of romaine lettuce

2 handfuls of spinach

A squeeze of lemon juice

This Recipe makes about 650 ML of juice. The Juice Can be stored in the fridge up to 5 days (I highly suggest adding lemon if you plan on storing it)

My Juicer: Philips HR1854 Juicer I paid close to 80 Euros but better deals can be found on Amazon.

Decided to pull out my favorite floral pink skirt. I actually could not wear this last summer because I lost a lot of weight but now that I am halfway through my pregnancy its starting to fit again. 😉

For the Top I just went with a simple white shirt, it is the beautiful cut of the shirt that keeps the outfit stylish and sweet. The top shows off the shoulders but does not show off to much cleavage.

For Jewelry I decided to keep it very simple and clean. just a pair of my favorite silver dangle earrings. And My Beautiful  Swarovski crystal green leaf necklace. 🙂
